Neon Art

Similar to glass art, neon art can be summarised as a branch of art requiring fine craftsmanship, including precise measuring and cutting processes to achieve the desired shape and style. Though it doesn't require many steps, it requires excellent work to be as effective as needed.

Firstly, clean the glass tube, and place the coating machine vertically. Keep in mind that the radius of the tube affects the brightness of the light.

The coating machine expels liquid phosphor suspension into the tube. Wait for the liquid phosphor to drain back to the bottom.

Put tubes in the oven to dry the coating.

Bend the tubes to reach the desired shape. Use a 61 cm or longer ribbon to achieve curvy letters and designs. 

Place a blow hose to prevent softened tubes from crumpling. Blow into this hose to shape the tube.

Remove contaminants and electrodes from the glass.

Evacuate the air inside the tube.

Allow the gas in the tube to stabilise. 

Attach the tube to the electrodes.

Light up the tube to achieve neon-art decoration.

Neon lights function as light bulbs as the tubes radiate light with a high-voltage electrical current. Even though almost all gases are able to conduct electric current and emit light, some of them react with the electrode current residing within the tube, which reduces the efficiency of the electrodes and results in the light fading.
